Welcome
Tired Eyes defends people who need to put their health ahead of work. The name is in tribute to and sympathy with evening commuters packed in trains and buses across the world, who feel beaten down and exhausted from work, often for scant reward. Tired Eyes defends disability claimants who are under attack because of institutional prejudice within politics and the media. It does this by:
Politicians and economists have done huge amounts of work at looking to reduce the claimant count and get people with health problems into work. Much of this work is good. The vast majority out of work want to work in some capacity, if just for a few hours a week. However a problem exists. These same politicians and economists presume, due to prejudice, that all work is good for all people. This is simply untrue. In a study of three of the most important reports on UK unemployment, none of these reports address mental health data. The result is that people with mental health problems unable to work due to their health, are being badly treated in our society and their health will decline.
